Sorry to interrupt your Halloween fun on this lovely Thursday but I have some exciting news to share... NO NEW GROWTH! I am so happy and relieved. I just got off the phone with my oncologist's nurse who relayed the good news and feeling so loved and thankful. I asked why they think that tumor marker is going up and since it was the nurse and not my oncologist who I spoke with, I didn't get very much info. What she did say was that since it's so early, even if something non detectable on imaging is growing, my new medication I'll hopefully start taking tomorrow should stop that process.
Now I want to share a quote I truly love that I first heard on this podcast I have been loving. If you feel you are in need of a relaxing, uplifting, mindful practice help, I highly recommend anything from Tara Brach: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/tara-brach/id265264862 and if you're one of the many people I love who I have already shared my love of Tara with, I am sorry but I can't help but share something that I find so wonderful and helpful. Here is the quote Tara taught about:
All you need is already within you, only you must approach your self with reverence and love. Self-condemnation and self-distrust are grievous errors. Your constant flight from pain and search for pleasure is a sign of love you bear for your self, all I plead with you is this: make love of your self perfect. Deny yourself nothing - give your self infinity and eternity and discover that you do not need them; you are beyond.
-Nisargadatta Maharaj
I hope this helps you. I also hope you don't eat too many peanut butter M &M's like I have started to. Remember today and try to remember always to "make love of your self perfect." And as much as I want to believe that means eating all the peanut butter M & M's I want, I know that's not true.
Happy Halloween to you all. May you enjoy it to the fullest, be safe, and remember, today you learned there are not just Christmas miracles, there are Halloween miracles also.
